• Welcome Home to the King-Chávez Neighborhood of Schools! King-Chávezs six charter schools and two preschool sites were created by and for the community of Greater Logan Heights, near downtown San Diego. In the shadow of the historic Chicano Park, King-Chávez teachers, staff, and students come together to live and breathe our mission: We seek excellence in academics, arts, and athletics from the foundation of Love. We help our students discover their own path, with the hope that they will, in turn, return to work in and grow their community. We encourage our teachers to express their creativity through innovative curriculum, share and collaborate with others, and participate in continuous professional development. We foster a family environment, and actively reward those who become our family over time. Our preschool through high school matriculation lets us become truly invested in our children. Through our Alumni Association, we support them well into their future as adults: whether that be college or career. The King-Chávez Neighborhood of Schools provides an educational experience that is both rigorous and nurturing.
