Our vision for Alexandria is a vibrant community where people of all income groups and cultures live in safe and healthy homes.Since 1986, this non-profit organization has been committed to donating home repairs to the in-need families of our Alexandria, Virginia community. We are part of a national network of over 200 affiliates, making Rebuilding Together the nation's largest nonprofit working to preserve affordable homeownership and to revitalize neighborhoods by providing home repair services free of charge to those in need.We have many programs that support our mission:National Rebuilding Day --The core initiative of Rebuilding Together Alexandria is National Rebuilding Day when volunteers provide free home repairs for low-income homeowners.Veterans Housing --We assist veterans, active-duty service members and military families maintain safe and accessible housing.Safe & Healthy Homes --This initiative allows the elderly and people with disabilities to age in place by addressing home repair and maintenance issues that present safety risks or limit access to and within their home.Energize Alexandria --Our green housing program saves homeowners money on utility bills and provides healthier home environments and communities through energy efficient home repairs and weatherization.
