• Serve & Protect is a 501(c)(3) non-profit providing crisis line, chaplain, and trauma therapy services for law enforcement, fire/rescue/ems, dispatch, and corrections professionals and their families 24/7/coast2coast. In addition, we provide a network of resources to serve the needs of these Homeland Heroes. * every 17 hours a law enforcement officer commits suicide, and suicide among firefighters is sharply rising*75% of police and 87% of firefighters are divorced* 40% of first responders are involved in domestic violence* 85% of first responders experience some symptoms of PTSDThese Homeland Heroes run to danger when all other flee. They protect us while we sleep, work, or play. Every day they report for duty and say goodbye to their family, they have no assurance they will return.Serve & Protect was founded by Robert Michaels, a former MP with the 229th MP Battalion of the Virginia National Guard, and Detective with Norfolk VA Police Department. He holds a B.A. in Biblical Education from Columbia International University, and M.a. from Wheaton College. He is the State Chaplain for the Tennessee Fraternal Order of Police. Rob is a member of the American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress and National Center for Crisis Management.
