• The Alliance supports winter sports activities for youth in Summit and Wasatch counties, promoting sportsmanship and healthy lifestyles through participation, education and competition. Whether recreational participantsgetting off the couch and out to play in our winter wonderland, or elite athletes aspiring to be world-class competitors; involvement in sports programs builds character in a positive, structured environment. In addition to providing opportunities to participate, the Alliance encourages all athletes to adopt and embrace the following core values spelling out the acronym SPORT: Sportsmanship, Perseverance, Optimism, Respect, and Teamwork.The Alliance provides grants to 13 member teams, the Get Out & Play elementary school program, and scholarships for junior athletes. Through these programs, we touch the lives of over 2000 youth. The supported programs range from learn to programs, that get kids active through winter sports, to teenagers aspiring to Olympic or National Team status or collegiate competition. Through our programs and scholarships all local children are offered the chance to participate in winter sports no matter what their financial status. YSA invests in introductory & competitive sport programs and the youth in our community.
