• The Ronald McDonald House Charity provides a home-away-from-home for families so they can stay close by their child and medical facilities at little or no cost. Our House is built on the simple idea that nothing else should matter when a family is focused on healing their child- not what they can afford, where they will get their next meal, or where they will lay their head at night to rest.The House is a 9 bedroom historic home on Monument Avenue that can house 25 people at a time. Families are referred to the House by the health care facility where their child will be receiving treatment. Any family that has a child being served by a local medical facility is eligible to stay in the House with a referral. The House is open to families whose children are receiving impatient and outpatient medical treatments. Ronald McDonald House Charities is a non-profit, 501 (c)(3) organization. In addition to its cornerstone Ronald McDonald House program, the Richmond Chapter supports a variety of other programs, which include Ronald McDonald Family Rooms at the Children's Hospital of Richmond, Grants, Scholarships and a Family Support and Recovery Program.
