- Mann Theatres was founded in 1935. In 1970, Marvin Mann expanded the operation when he purchased the Highland and Grandview theaters in St. Paul. Marvin's son's, Stephen and Benjie, became involved in the early 70's. Today they run & own Mann Theatres. After working with and becoming partners with their father after 24 years, Marvin passed away in 1994 shortly before the opening of their Eagan location, which was dedicated in his memory. Since that time, Mann Theatres has opened multiple locations including Hopkins, St. Louis Park, Lakes 12 in Brainerd, Plymouth, Grand Rapids, Hibbing and Champlin. Mann Theatres currently operates 10 locations. In mid-2012 Mann Theatres completed it's digital rollout with all theatres now having digital cinema including digital 3D at several locations. Our latest $8 miilion renovation at our premiere theatre, Plymouth Grand 15 has luxury recliners, Dolby Atmos XDX sound, & a bar opening in May! We pride ourselves on giving you the best movie theater experience in the state of Minnesota with outstanding customer service.
