- We created this event in 2006 as a family and friend get together. Our hope was having an event that promoted a positive atmosphere along with people feeling a sense of accomplishment afterwards. We received the inspiration after competing and volunteering in Finger Lakes Running Club races. We wanted to share with people how fun it is to get out there and walk, run and cheer people on! In addition, we put on this event because one of our challenges is overcoming our obesity. We also know it is a lifelong challenge, and we are not alone.
