The companies currently serve over 400 local governments across the nation and North America.Hinderliter de Llamas & Associates (HdL) is a California corporation that was founded in 1983 and was the first firm in California to develop and market a comprehensive and systematic approach to sales tax management analysis. HdL examines the revenues received by local governments from outside taxing agencies such as the State Board of Equalization to ensure that money collected on behalf of the client agency is properly allocated back to the client.In 1992, HdL formed a separate company, HdL Coren & Cone. This company's primary focus is on property tax issues. In 1996, Robert Hinderliter and Lloyd de Llamas started a subsidiary software company (HdL Software) to diversify client services and meet local government financial and revenue management needs. The three corporations share staff and facilities to provide coordinated services to their mutual clients. HdL, HdL Software and HdL Coren & Cone provide local government agencies with specialized data and analyses which are used by clients to make sound financial and economic decisions.
