- The Joy of Sox is a nonprofit whose mission is to help supply socks to the homeless in Philadelphia and the surrounding areas of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.What We DoThe Joy of Sox does three things:1. Raises funds (to buy socks)2. Collects new socks (helps raise community awareness of homelessness)3. Distributes the socks to the homelessHow Can You Help?We need the same help as every other charitable group-your time and money.But it's never as simple as time and money. There are so many other good causes out there that The Joy of Sox may not even make your list. However, if you are interested in helping provide a basic need such as socks for the homeless we can definitely use your support.To accomplish this we need:Contributions from individuals, companies and foundations.Involvement by community groups such as schools or service clubs to conduct sock drivesVolunteers to help sort, package and distribute the socks.The Joy of Sox is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit.
