• ProJeCt of Easton, Inc. is a human services agency founded in 1968 through the efforts of a Protestant minister, Jewish rabbi, and Catholic priest (ProJeCt) in response to a rising tide of poverty and social unrest. ProJeCt is proud of our long history of establishing programs to address and break the cycle of poverty. We are based in Easton, PA and are in service to the broader communities of Lehigh and Northampton Counties, PA. ProJeCts mission is to build a better community by helping people help themselves. We focus on creating long-term, measurable, and sustainable solutions to poverty, and believe that education is the key to fulfilling our mission. We do this through a cohesive system of high quality social support and educational programs. We assist disadvantaged adults and children break the cycle of poverty through the following services: the largest food pantry in Northampton County; an emergency assistance program for shelter, rental assistance, heating costs, and more; case management support services that develop life skills to achieve self-sufficiency; and, educational programs that include Adult Basic Education (ABE), English as a Second Language (ESL), General Educational Development (GED®) preparation, Family Literacy and supplemental education programs for school age children. The agency provides assistance to more than 5,000 people a year. ProJeCts model of service recognizes that poverty is complex and that disadvantaged adults and children benefit from a comprehensive system of high quality, evidence-based, seamless support. ProJeCt is committed to high fidelity implementation of evidence-based practices and programs that make a measurable impact on the people served and the community. Our programs use education to build action plans, teach new life skills, and connect clients to opportunities in order to help them break the cycle of poverty.
