Get Full AccessDescription
- MathAction is a nonprofit research and development group with a bold mission: to empower the next generation to use math as a tool to understand and seek solutions for the most pressing global issues of our time. By blending the precision of mathematics with the ambiguities of social issues, students learn to use mathematics in context: to investigate real issues, communicate ideas and inform their actions. MathAction has two main strategies to achieve its mission: (1) share our framework and model exemplary curricula with educators, and (2) support middle and high school teacher communities of practice. MathAction offers professional development and technical assistance to transform mathematics classrooms into thriving 21st century learning centers.
