• Ready To Empower is a corporation dedicated to restoring hope and self-worth to women domestically and internationally. By providing funding for health care needs, startup business services and community centers, women will have the tools they need to work their way out of poverty. Our commitment is to empower and foster the independence and self-reliance necessary to allow women to reach their full potentials. Founder Amanda Ready visited San Ramón, Costa Rica, for three months during the summer of 2013. During her trip, she was introduced to a group of amazing women in the area called Bajo Tejares, whom she found to be uneducated, without adequate health care, and living in poverty with no long-term support. Amanda immediately recognized that the women needed and deserved to be helped and empowered. Having experience working in social services and mental health, she was able to set up small support systems, including mental health counseling, social service support, advocacy for victims of domestic violence and abuse, fitness classes, and emergency relief support. Word of mouth spread quickly to women in the community, and what started out as 25 women requesting guidance and support quickly became over 200. As the number of women increased, Amanda realized she needed additional support. Once back in the United States, she continued to guide and provide support and direction to the volunteers and the women of Bajo Tejares. However, after months of providing support and advocacy and using personal funds, Amanda realized she needed additional support to carry out her vision. Thus, Ready to Empower Inc. was established. A corporation dedicated to empowering women through the use of individual support plans and programs that encourage self-reliance, restore hope, and increase self-worth. RTE equips women with the tools necessary to help them work their way out of poverty.
