- A healthy diet should not be reserved only for those who can afford it. Tampa Urban Benefit Farms, or TUB Farms, is focused on providing direct access to fresh fruit and vegetables to those in our community who rely on food donations to feed their families. TUB Farms has teamed up with Urban Oasis Farm Technology for a unique design of a hydroponic growing system for our use. TUB Farms installs these systems directly at food distribution locations and at local schools. The TUB Farm schools are paired up with local food pantries so that once the fresh produce is grown it is directly donated to the pantry and distributed to families in need. This is an exciting project for students since not only will the students learn about innovative food production, but they will also have a direct impact on the health of their own community.
