• After the birth of her first son, Lauren Stokes had no intention of returning to her career as a registered nurse. Instead, she turned her bedrest hobby into a womens apparel brand inspired by the best of the south and driven by modern styling! This brand became Lauren James. A combination of Laurens first name and her oldest son, Loftons, middle name, Lauren and her husband Lance knew right away it was perfect! The name had a simple, classic feel that was indicative of the familial origination of the brand. Lauren and Lance began by selling simple, southern inspired tee shirts online on a makeshift website. Almost a year later they re-launched a new online store with tee shirts, dresses, hats, and other accessories. What began in April 2013 as a humble operation run out of the Stokes living room has now evolved into a style empire with apparel featured in 450 specialty retail locations, in Lauren James corporate stores, and online at LaurenJames.com. Lauren James is a true representation of what the American Dream is all about - building, creating and family.
