• At Long Road Brewing Company we brew community. We believe we can create natural products that reflect the taste and diversity of our region that will encourage agricultural job growth and social development. ver the past thirty years, the Upstate New York Region has lost a significant amount of its population and businesses. This exodus is a result of a lack of economic opportunity.OWe believe that by creating a locally sourced craft beer product, we can encourage people to stay in Rochester. Long Road Brewing will bring jobs back to the Rochester region by taking local products and turning them into consumable goods in the form of fermented beverages. By buying locally we can encourage farmers to grow more, which in turn will have a cascading affect on the economy. Long Road intends to make beer and other fermented beverages using locally sourced materials from the New York Region. Our region has everything needed to become a source of quality craft beverages. We have a source of fresh water, one of the largest in the world. The ingredients needed to make beer are grown locally, and the farmers producing these products are expanding their operations to meet the growing demand. New York is encouraging an explosion in hop growth, investing heavily in grants and assistance to these farmers. We plan on offering up to ten beers at any given time, with a heavy focus on lagers. We believe that ales have saturated the craft brewing market. While we love a good pale ale and a stout every now and then, there is a whole other spectrum of beer that our area is missing. It would be like if all the wineries in our area only sold red wine, and only a limited selection of whites. So we plan on releasing styles like Kolsch, Pislner (both clear and black), Helles, and many more. Lagers take about twice as long to make, but we believe the infusion of variety into our beer scene is worth it.
