• The Filipino Young Professionals of Houston (FYP) is a Texas 501(c)3 non-profit organization founded in 2009 and is comprised of individuals in and outside of Houston from diverse backgrounds (cultures, nationalities, professions, and ages) who are of Filipino heritage or who have an interest in the Philippines or Filipino culture. FYP was developed with the understanding that there is a need to provide professionals with diverse opportunities for networking, professional development, community involvement, and public service. Originally created as an avenue to promote the Filipino culture to young professionals in the City of Houston, FYP has evolved to engage, connect and empower professionals from all over the world! Through its activities and events, FYP continuously ensures that its members, its friends and supporters in the local and global communities, and future generations will maintain Filipino cultural knowledge and awareness. FYP encourages its members to take an active role in educating themselves, and others, in the rich heritage and culture of the Philippines. FYP also provides its members with multiple opportunities to organize and participate in philanthropic initiatives benefiting the local and international community. Moreover, FYP holds frequent networking socials to foster an environment of friendship and promote professional relationships. Since 2009, FYP has assisted in youth outreach programs, awarded youth academic scholarships, participated in community and disaster relief fundraising and philanthropic initiatives, and competed in Texas Dragon Boat competitions. In 2014, FYP grew to over 250 members, world-wide, and we look forward to continued growth. Many of our members are prominent leaders and esteemed professionals in both the public and private sectors of their professions, and we are grateful for their support and enthusiasm.
