- GLOBALG.A.P. North America is a regional affiliate of GLOBALG.A.P., the Global Partnership for Good Agricultural Practice. GLOBALG.A.P. is a private sector body representing all players in the supply chain between the farm gate and the consumers plate: farmers, producers, and buyers. GLOBALG.A.P. sets voluntary standards for the certification of agricultural and aquacultural products around the globe. The GLOBALG.A.P. standard is designed to assure consumers that the food they eat is produced according to the continuously improving Good Agricultural Practices (G.A.P.), which minimize risk of microbiological contamination, lessen detrimental environmental impacts of farming operations, reduce the use of chemical inputs and ensure a responsible approach to worker health and safety as well as animal welfare. The GLOBALG.A.P. standard serves as a practical manual for G.A.P. throughout the world. GLOBALG.A.P. members represent a variety of interest groups from agricultural producers to retailers. Producers and retailers work together as equal partners to establish and maintain efficient certification standards and procedures
