- The Maryland Pharmacists Association (MPhA), established in 1882, has a membership of 1,200 and is the only state-wide professional society representing all practicing pharmacists. MPhA is an affiliated state organization with the American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA), American Society of Consultant Pharmacists (ASCP), and the National Community Pharmacists Association (NCPA). Our mission is to promote excellence in pharmacy practice, strengthen the profession of pharmacy, and advocate for all Maryland Pharmacists. Our purpose of MPhA is to promote: The health and well-being of Maryland citizens. Safe and effective use of medications and health care devices. Collaboration among health care professionals and organizations. Professional competence. Leadership development. Responsible legislation and regulation. The history and tradition of Maryland Pharmacy.
