• My husband, Danny, and I have been self employed for as long as we have been married. April 1985 was truly the start of a great partnership in every way! We have owned and operated many different business ventures over the years, starting with (of all oddities) a Slot Machine Resale Shop. Our resumes include an Ice Cream & Sandwich Boutique, a Mailbox & Shipping Store, a Baseball Card Store, and now a Gun Store and an Auction House! We have worked side by side (did I see some of you shudder at the idea of working for decades with your spouse?), and have employed friends, cousins, nieces, nephews, siblings, and now our one and only daughter, Cassie Todd-Jameson, who is our Team Leader at Pot Of Gold Auctions. Working with family has its own set of unique challenges, and we have handled those challenges with greater and lesser degrees of finesse, which are all best discussed over a tall cold drink. In seriousness, every business and every staff member has taught us invaluable lessons and we honor each one by learning from and using those lessons in the ongoing building of our businesses. We see ourselves as both students and teachers; both employer and mentor, and sometimes we even get it right! If you ever need some moral support over staff-you-are-related-to issues I may not have the answers, but I certainly will enjoy sharing some war stories with you!
