• Ovation Award Winner Cabrillo Music Theatre is the Resident Musical Production Company at the Bank of America Performing Arts Center at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza, the largest theatre between Los Angeles and San Francisco. For over three decades, Cabrillo has enriched life in Southern California, providing extraordinary performing arts through live musical theatre. Cabrillo is a volunteer based non-profit theatre company, presenting award-winning musicals with full, live orchestras, lavish sets and costumes, and premier talent.In 2008, Cabrillo won six (6) Ovation Tony Awards, the most of any theatre in Southern California. Cabrillo received the prestigious 2009 Best of Westlake Village Award from the U.S. Commerce Association. This award gives national recognition to Cabrillo for the merit and effectiveness of its business practices and for achieving exceptional marketing success in its community and business category. Cabrillo received the 2008 Los Angeles Daily News Readers Choice Best of LA Award for Live Stage Productions, an award for which 1.5 million monthly readers of the Daily News had an opportunity to vote. In 2009, Cabrillo again won the 2009 Best of LA Award. Cabrillos OUTREACH programs have been honored for two consecutive years by the Conejo-Las Virgenes Future Foundations CLvFFie Community Service Award, and have received commendations from the California State Senate and Assembly.Cabrillo Music Theatres mission is to introduce the musical theatre experience to socially, culturally, economically diverse, and underserved populations of Southern California. Cabrillos 2009-2010 Season anticipates reaching more than 100,000 people through our main stage, off-stage, and special productions, as well as our award-winning OUTREACH programs. Since 2005, Cabrillos OUTREACH programs have included over 27,000 underserved, Title I children, in-need seniors, and active military troops, all free of charge.
