We define forensic engineering as professional engineering services to identify the root causes of incidents and improve patient safety.PROGRAM ASSESSMENT: We review clinical engineering programs in hospitals and systems of all sizes, evaluating compliance with accreditation standards, benchmarking on multiple dimensions, and identifying opportunities for improvement. CLINICAL ENGINEERING INTEGRATION and CE-IT CONVERGENCE: We work with hospital systems seeking to integrate clinical engineering activities system-wide. We also work with organizations to integrate Clinical Engineering and Information Technology.EQUIPMENT PLANNING: We work with healthcare organizations to improved their processes for capital equipment planning and medical technology assessment. We provide services for equipment planning, specification, selection, acquisition, installation, and acceptance.INCIDENT INVESTIGATION: If you believe a medical device may have contributed to the injury or death of a patient or staff member or contributed to serious physical damage or financial loss we work with you to discover the root causes and avoid recurrence.LITIGATION SUPPORT: When a medical device is an issue in a legal matter, you need support from an expert in that field. We help you understand the technical issues and we advise you as you work with legal counsel (plaintiff or defense).
