• History of O.W. Hubbell & Sons Inc .In 1925, Orville William Hubbell founded O.W. Hubbell & Sons, Inc. He developed a highway safety company, fabricating and installing highway guardrail and signs. The steel portions of these products had to be galvanized. In 1968 to meet the production needs, the company built their own hot dip galvanizing plant. The company grew from a New York State operation to cover all of New England.Allen William Hubbell, son of Orville Hubbell, was an active presence in the company until his death in 2005, as was his own son, Daniel Hubbell, until his own death in 2011. Today Orville's granddaughter and her husband, Jane and Steven Mulvihill, and Orville's grandsons, Jock Hubbell and Peter Hubbell, are the leaders of the operations. Today, we serve all of New York State, New England, and all along the east coast down to Florida.The galvanizing plant has expanded capabilities. Our galvanizing kettle size is 5 ft. wide x 46 ft. long x 10 ft. deep--That's large enough to handle just about any piece of metal. We operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The main office is located at 5124 Commercial Drive East in Yorkville, NY.
