- Westchester Capital Management, LLC, an SEC Registered Investment Advisor has been working with clients since 1980 to enhance their investment portfolios through the addition of a diversified merger arbitrage strategy where total portfolio risk is managed and minimized. Merger arbitrage has been our only focus since inception. With a total of over $5 billion under management in the strategy and, having invested in more than 2,500 corporate reorganizations in over three decades (that have seen an extraordinary range of market conditions), we are one of the most experienced firms in the merger-arbitrage business. We follow a disciplined, research-intensive approach to merger arbitrage. We never invest on rumors, and a variety of hedging strategies are employed to limit risk. Our results have been substantially less volatile and less market-sensitive than those of conventional equity managers and many of our peers.
