SheaMoisture is the legacy of founder and CEO Richelieu Dennis grandmother Sofi, who sold handcrafted shea butter soaps and salves in Sierra Leone to support her family, after she was widowed at a young age. Nubian Heritage had humble beginnings in Harlem. After graduating from college, Richelieu and his best friend, Nyema Tubman, began selling their culturally authentic, globally-inspired creations in Harlem as street vendors. Nubian Heritage is available at Vitamin Shoppe, Whole Foods, ULTA, Wegmans, Earth Fare, Sprouts, Pharmaca and independent health food stores throughout the country. Building on the life and impact of the ground-breaking Madam C.J. Walker visionary entrepreneur, philanthropist and America's first female self-made millionaire Sundial Brands launched Madam C.J. Walker Beauty Culture haircare, exclusively in Sephora. Sundial Brands recently introduced SheaGirl, a collection of skin and body care created by seven girls with seven amazing stories. Though our purpose-driven Community Commerce business model, Sundial Brands ethically sources shea butter from 15 womens co-ops in Northern Ghana. We dont just buy the womens raw materials we help them develop self-sustaining businesses.
