• The Military Aviation Museum is one of the world's largest collections of flyable military aircraft from the first half century of manned aviation. Guests call the experience at this museum unique and powerful, as you can literally walk right up to these famous fighters and bombers since there are no ropes or barriers around them. If the weather is good, you can take a ride along the beach in an open-cockpit biplane. There are five major themed hangars to visit to see more than 65 history-making aircraft. One of those hangars is a genuine 1934 German Luftwaffe hangar from Cottbus, Germany that has been restored to house our German collection, including our newly restored and flying Messerschmitt Bf-109.Opening in 2016 is our control tower from World War Two's Royal Air Force base Goxhill. You can experience your own Twelve O'Clock High moment in the only RAF Watch Office outside of Britain. RAF Goxhill was the first air base turned over to the arriving Americans in 1942. History comes alive at the Military Aviation Museum. There is a Dinosaur Park and benches provided for your family picnic, and there are unique vehicles on display, both military and civilian. There are several major air shows each year, as well as dozens of other fascinating events.
