- Teen Talk is now Health Connected! Health Connected is a Bay Area 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization focused on creating a community-wide commitment to adolescent sexual health. Our mission is to help young people feel confident and supported to make informed decisions about their own sexual health.We accomplish this through the following programs: Youth Services in-school puberty and sexuality education for students ages 10-19 Parent Services interactive workshops for parents of adolescents and pre-adolescents on parent-child communication surrounding sexuality, sexual health, and relationships Training & Technical Assistance training and technical assistance for education professionalsLocal, state, and federal agencies do not provide earmarked funding for sexual health education, meaning schools arent necessarily providing adequate or any sex ed programming. Over the last 19 years, Health Connecteds in-school comprehensive sexuality education programs have filled this gap, serving over 50,000 youth in 50 schools across San Mateo County, including high-need schools in Redwood City, East Palo Alto, Daly City, and the San Mateo County Office of Educations Court and Community Schools system. For almost two decades, weve partnered with schools to provide programs for all young people across cultures, developmental levels, and family backgrounds.Sex ed starts here.
