• Analytical Methods (AMI) was founded in 1971 to provide consulting, research, engineering and software services to both government and industry. The company offers Computational Fluid Dynamics software, such as the well-known VSAERO and VLAERO codes, and air and water vehicle design and testing services to a wide customer base. In 2009, AMI became the engineering arm of Stark Aerospace, Inc., with a mission to expand the core business while supporting the development of Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) for the parent company. AMI has extensive experience, computer facilities and software that can be applied to the solution of most air, land, and water vehicle design problems. AMIs engineers have worked on projects for numerous companies and military organizations, gaining broad experience in land, air and water vehicle design and testing. Projects have ranged from modifications to large transport category aircraft to conceptual design of small UAVs. The company has also performed work in the fields of airship, automotive, helicopter, propeller, sailboat, surface vessel and submarine fluid dynamics. Aerodynamic analysis using the state-of-the-art Navier-Stokes solver CFD++ developed by Metacomp Technologies, Inc. has become routine.AMI was responsible, with a partner company, for the aerodynamic design of the Eclipse 500 and Sino-Swearingen SJ30 business jets and the Lockheed Martin CATB test bed aircraft, among others. Aviation Partners, Inc. has relied on AMI for the CFD analysis of all their blended winglet designs for transport and corporate jet aircraft. AMI supports FAA certification of new and modified aircraft with loads analyses ranging from radomes to full aircraft (Part 23 and Part 25). In recent years, AMI has been a primary supplier of aerodynamic analysis supporting the certification of special missions aircraft.
