He is considered one of the foremost experts on the subject, and was the principal founder of fi360 and the AIF and AIFA designations. In 2007 he took an eighteen month sabbatical from Wall Street to be the first Director to head the Institute for Leadership at the U.S. Coast Guard Academy.
