The Camber Ridge concept has been developed with direct input from the automotive, commercial truck, military and tire industries, and represents the first major advancement in tire characterization in over 50 years. New advancements in automotive safety systems and performance, combined with a suite of new federal mandates, have escalated vehicle development costs and have stretched the capabilities of conventional testing equipment. Camber Ridge was formed to provide a new level of tire characterization that will not only provide tire manufacturers with accurate on-road performance with lab-level repeatability, but will also enable vehicle manufacturers to replace expensive prototype vehicles and proving grounds with virtual simulations, thereby reducing development costs and time to market.
