- Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association is responsible for advancing the interests of the Hotels in the Greater Miami area and providing a forum for those in the hospitality industry to meet, develop relationships and discuss common issues. We advocate for our members' interests through active involvement in local, state and national issues. Our members include more than 170 hotels and 400 allied businesses located across Miami-Dade County. The main benefit of our membership is to promote company exposure, enhance relationships, facilitate repeat business. We host numerous events per year. about 2 breakfasts and 2 networkers and hosted each month at a member hotel.We recently created an educational panel breakfast series that includes: Couples in Hospitality, GM Women Panel, Catering Hospitality Panel (June 13th) and a few others on the way. The summer luncheons are always well attended and include a prominent speaker. Last year we were fortunate to host Ted Teng, President & CEO Leading Hotels of the World at the Biltmore Hotel. Last year we began a new event known as Hotel Access this is a speed-dating like event, in which our members have 2 ½ minutes with each hotel in attendance. Other significant events are our yearly awards ceremonies: The Inn Key Awards Luncheon is the largest event of the year recognizing our hourly full time hotel employees in 12 departments April 2015 we will be celebrating our 21st year. The Hotel Manager Awards Reception is an exciting event for our hotel managers to be recognized. Our newest awards event is the Sustainable Awards Luncheon for hotels and allied/ allied upgrade members implementing sustainable practices in their business.
