• The Brain Injury Association of Delaware (BIAD) was founded in the late 1980s by a group of volunteers who were touched by brain injury. Most of the volunteers were parents of brain injury survivors who found they needed one anothers support to continue. From BIADs humble beginnings came many milestone achievements, including the construction and opening of Peach Tree Acres, a one-of-a-kind brain injury assisted-living facility, which is now operating independently in Harbeson, Delaware. Together, the group also established support groups in all three counties of Delaware and in Salisbury, Maryland. Our [Growing] List of Services * Brain injury support groups in New Castle, Kent, and Sussex counties and in Salisbury, MD * Social/community events intended to help people with brain injury and their families meet each other and form a network of support * The BIAD Art Club, a program created just for brain injury survivors, based on artistic expression in a community setting * Applied Behavioral Analysis services and Job Development/Job Coaching services (through DVR) and Cognitive Rehabilitative services * New in 2012 BIAD Board is working on a Pediatric Track based on the needs of Delawares children with brain injury
