• TUSIAD Washington, D.C. Representative Office opened in November 1998 to enhance ties between the United States and Turkey in every field and to strengthen mutual interaction. The main function of the Representative Office is to maintain regular contact and cooperation with the U.S. Congress, administration, business circles, think tanks, the media, international organizations and Turkish-American organizations.The objective of the Representative Offices is to serve as a bridge between the two nations by informing U.S. public opinion on developments in Turkey and informing TUSIAD membership of U.S. interests both in Turkey and the region. In this context, the Representative Office serves as a conduit for exchange of information between Turkey and the United States on political, economic, and business matters through participating in and hosting conferences and panels, establishing direct contacts, sponsoring reports and publishing newsletters.With TUSIADs increased involvement in promoting a structural framework for the progress of Turkish-American ties both economically and politically, the Representative Office works closely with especially the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and the Brookings Institution, both of which have become institutional partners of TUSIAD.
