Description

Modified Style Portland hosts an annual fashion show benefit for other local non-profits. The organizaion was founded by Portland natives Janessa Philemon-Kerp and Andrea Steele, and was Co-Directed by Andrea Steele and Laura Boley in 2012. Modified Style Portland obtained official 501(c)3 nonprofit status in 2014, and is now being run by passionate PDX community members, with Leah Miller serving as Board President. -- Our Mission -- Modified Style Portland is a 501(c)3 non-profit, community enhancement organization that supports and encourages the growth of Portlands socially progressive identity in the form of fun, accessible, sustainable fashion. Our goal is to help minimize the massive carbon footprint of the fashion industry through fostering creativity, confidence and self-expression within the Portland community.-- How We Do It -- MSP promotes sustainable fashion awareness through a variety of avenues leading up to our annual fundraising fashion show. Donated fabric is used by designers of all skill levels and ages to create innovative fashions, which are then auctioned off to benefit local charities. This event sparks innovation, originality, resourcefulness, and confidence the essence of Portland culture!-- Upcoming MSP 2016 Fashion Show -- The 7th Annual Modified Style Portland 2016 Fashion Show will be held Thursday, June 30th at McMenamin's Crystal Ballroom in downtown Portland.
