• We Dont Waste is committed to reducing food waste. Our innovative practices of recovering food from venues, events, caterers, restaurants and other major food distributors and delivering the food to community-based non-profit agencies serving vulnerable populations, which increases their food security. We enable community agencies to feed more of the needy, serving as the link between food sources and the underserved.We Don't Waste believes no one should go hungry. Colorado has the fastest-growing child-poverty rate in the nation (Denver Post, 4/13/2010). Poverty is often a barrier to opportunity and it is not limited to children. Almost 900,000 Coloradans struggle every day to put food on the table.We Dont Waste provides food to nearly 50 community-based non-profit agencies providing food to children, individuals, veterans, seniors, families, and the homeless. Collectively, these agencies serve over 5,000 individuals daily. We Dont Waste is the most effective organization systematically gathering what would otherwise be wasted food, and delivering it to the neediest organizations in the Denver Metro area. Since September 2009 through June 2013, We Dont Waste has collected donated food valued at over $2.5 million, translating to more than 3,000,000 servings for Denvers underserved.There is much more surplus food available, and there are many more individuals to feed. Without sufficient financial resources, though, We Dont Waste cannot meet the increasing needs of feeding the hungry.
