• The Carolyn Barron Montessori School was founded in 1993 to foster a love of learning and to educate children to be caring, socially responsible citizens of their community and world. The educational programs at CBMS involve children from early childhood into adolesence. CBMS seeks to educate the whole child, applying the Montessori philosophy, in a family-oriented environment. The philosophy is based on the principles of Dr. Maria Montessori whose holistic vision of education focuses on the cognitive, social, emotional and physical needs of the child. The beautiful historic home district lends its warm, family atmosphere to our school which currently serves over 80 children. We are a community of interested, involved parents, an energetic, dedicated staff, and an active board of trustees committed to the Montessori Method. Classrooms are well equipped, spacious, bright, and have porches and gardens.
