• The vision of the Wilson Foundation is to act as a catalyst for change. The change in the nature, role and strength of the family and the community has alienated individuals and citizens from each other and their institutions, resulting in a significant decline in the quality of life for all of us. Our mission is to improve the quality of life through initiating and supporting projects that measurably demonstrate a means of creating a sense of belonging within the family and the community. The Wilson Foundation considers grants in three categories: Strategic Grants, Rochester Small Grants and Discretionary Grants. Strategic and Discretionary Grants are solicited by the Foundation only. Non-profit organizations in the Rochester, NY area may apply to the Rochester Small Grants program in the range of $1,000 to $25,000. Grants will not be made to individuals, partisan political organizations or to support lobbying efforts. Incomplete proposals will not be accepted. Grant applications are accepted on a rolling basis. A review committee composed of Foundation board members will review applications as they are received. The review committee meets once a month except for July, August and December. Because the Foundation receives a large number of applications, it may take up to four months to receive a response to your request.
