    Description

    • Good Shepherd Volunteers is a one-year full-time volunteer program that serves women, children, and adolescents affected by poverty, violence and neglect. Our volunteers live in community with each other, have a small living stipend, and practice the 4 Tenets of GSV: social justice, community, spirituality, and simplicity. We need people who are compassionate, flexible, and are up for a challenge. The populations we are working with are usually in a traumatic moment in their lives. We have placements in group homes, working with youth in and coming out of foster homes, a domestic violence shelter, in school settings, and in public policy and advocacy. Our placements are located in New York City, New Jersey, and Los Angeles.
